Upset Baby Day (D.C. Day 3)

Another day begins.... and the box is still a problem...

Once the kids were done wrassling over the box, we hopped in the car and went to the Air and Space Museum

It was pretty neat looking with planes hanging from the ceilings.  It reminded me of a giant size, little boys room.

We found this cute plane called "Little Butch" and instantly thought of Talmage.

Ironically the name, Little Butch, came from it's "bulldog-like appearance" (Bulldog is Tal's nickname)

We saw the Enola Gay.

We saw the SR-71 Blackbird.

"The SR-71 Blackbird, now featured in the Transformers movie sequel, was faster than a rifle bullet and flew 16 miles above the earth"

The kids enjoyed the water fountains.

At this point Talmage started getting very ornery.  He wanted to run under the bars and play with all the displays, we wouldn't allow it, so he kept screaming and running away.  This picture was towards the beginning of the tantrums.

Cody attempting to punish the boy with a spanking, I was oblivious, and Tal saw it coming.

These were the displays that he wanted to run under and touch...kind of important.  He kept pointing and saying "Balls."

What the others were doing at the time.  Trying to get blown away (away from the madness that was Talmage).

There was a peaceful moment when the kids saw the "baby."  You know how they say it is always most peaceful before the storm....

And the STORM.......

On the opposite end of the spectrum...a beautiful angel baby.

We made some very good decisions and left the museum and headed over to Cafe Rio.  Mmmm Delicious.  We made more good decisions before heading to the next "Museum,"  (If you want to call it that) and bought a baby restraint system: AKA Baby leash.  We had a few good laughs out of it.  Talmage was not very happy though.

The National Gun Museum run by the NRA (National Rifle Association)

It was more of a show and tell, than a museum.  It was cool and we had Tal in a leash so it was more enjoyable.

There were still moments though.

I love Cody in this one.

On the way home it was Brynlee's turn to be upset.  " Don't touch me."

We had another delicious meal from scratch, Orange Chicken and after getting the kids to bed played Settlers of Catan, Cities and Knights.  Nate was losing...so it was his turn to be upset.

  1. I have enjoyed reading about your adventures in DC, it is one of my favorite places to visit! And if I do say so myself those baby leashes are seriously lifesavers! I get a lot of strange looks but sometimes they are just a necessity with an overly active child.

  2. Heh, heh. Today was a day that Tal, Bryn and Nate all need a time out!

  3. I am so jealous of all of your travels! We LOVE Washington DC. We want to settle in the outskirts of DC one day. Oh boy, I hear you about Tal and his fussiness. Traveling and toddlers don't mix! (But we keep attempting it anyway.) I like the leash-- let me know if you recommend it.
