18 Months

Talmage turned 18 months on June 2nd.  I decided before we took him to the doctors, to get his last immunization shots for awhile (yay), we would have a fun time playing at the park.
Lately, he has been very bad at minding us.  He is a major wanderer.  If we don't watch him every second he will run away.  He is very quick and even if we yell for him to come back,  he won't come, it almost urges him to run away father.  All the other children are content and happy playing on the slides and ladders.  And where is Talmage for all of this?  In the parking lot of course.

There was a moment when he played with the other children......
Look how happy he was about it.
Finally some sliding action.
"So I like to explore on my own. What's wrong with that?"

18 Month Stats
(This is for my own personal records, you don't have to go through and read all the stuff below)

Height: 34.75 inches (96%)
Weight: 26 lbs 6 oz (65%)
Head Circumference: 47.5 cm (40%)

Words he knows: Mom, Dadda, uh oh, boo, guck guck (yuck yuck), poh pah (pooh pooh), peh pah (pee pee), baw (ball), bowu (balloon), Jajas (jesus), umm (yum), bahbee (baby).

Things he does: If he goes pooh in his diaper he runs to us and points at his diaper and says poh pah (sometimes).

We ask him to go get stuff all the time, shoes, book, sippy cup, binky, etc. He knows exactly what we are asking him and can go get it.

He officially is in nursery now and did pretty good for his first time.

When me and Cody say family prayers at night, Talmage will fold his arms for a few seconds.

He will sit long enough now to get through a whole book when we read to him.

He can use spoons and forks, but after a few tries, gets frustrated and starts using his hand to pick up his food (it's faster).  He spills if he uses a cup without a lid still, but he gets the gist of it.

Knows how to take off his pants and shoes (uh oh).

Basically eats everything we eat, he has most of his front teeth and one molar now, the rest are breaking through about now.

His favorite animal is a cow.  He is always making their Moo sound and gets really excited and points to pictures of cows whenever he sees them.

His favorite foods are; any fruit (especially bananas), yogurt, black beans, chocolate milk and cheesy pastas. To feed him vegetables, I have to blend them into a fruit smoothie (what a little pill).

You can ask him where his nose, eyes, ears, mouth, tongue, teeth, belly button, hair, toes, and hands are and he will point to them on himself (if he is in a good mood).

His favorite thing to do is: to be outside and to wander.  He loves all the animals here in Wisconsin.  When we go on walks, he gets all worked up and excited every time he sees a bird, bunny, squirrel, or a dog.

He has so much personality and loves to copy me and Cody.  When we are joking around and start laughing at something he will start fake laughing just to be in on it. I fixed his hair into a mohawk yesterday and I turned away for a second and he was rubbing it all down.

He loves music and dancing.  He can hear the softest music in a store somewhere and start bouncing to the beat.

Does the high five, waves and loves giving fist bumps.

We hold Tal in between us for a group hug right before bedtime and he will move his head back and forth so I can give him a kiss and then Cody can, he will do the head bobble at least ten times.
He also blows kisses now.

He still does the muscle man squeeze "the hulk" is what I call it (holds his breath, turns red and flexes all his muscles).

He still does the, chin-down-big-puppy-dog-eyes- "give me what ever I want" -look.

Goes to sleep at night (and for naps) without a fight.  Sleeps great and plays hard during the day.

Finally turned his car seat around forward facing.

Loves doing pull ups, being swung around, thrown into the air, climbing, running, turning in circles , getting dizzy, bouncing, being tickled. Adventurous little tike.  Already has a ton of scrapes and bruises on his legs and face.

Thinking of getting him a tricycle soon, he loves his toy four wheeler but it is too small for him.

Recognizes most of his family members in pictures and especially dadda, mamma and loves pictures of himself (little narcissist).

He has his freak out, whiny, throwing, non sharing, upset moments, but for the most part he is my little tender heart and can be very soft, cuddly and sweet.  He is a happy boy and we love this age.
