Thus begins the month of August. We started off exhausted and finished exhausted. This was the second month Cody was gone. We only saw him once in August and that was for Tristans first birthday. It was very lucky he was able to be there for that atleast.
We spent a lot of time hanging out at Island water park mostly with our friends Wimmers, Cattons and Wells.
Tristans little buddy Riggins. They are a day apart. They love to swap binkies with eachother. Keep one another entertained waiting for their older siblings to go down all the water slides.
Talmages favorite ride, the big red slide. Makes him crazy he loves it so much! The longest line of course.
Tristan would find other ways to entertain himself.
Starting to get good at this balance thing, now learning how to take that first step is the hard part. His first step was on August 7th, I think it was here at the water park.
A few weeks away from turning one.
Taken maybe one or two steps at this point a week away from turning one!
At this age he has definitely already said the words, mama, dadda, hi, uh oh, ba ba, guh. His first official word was Dadda back in June. Mamma second word in July. He's had his first two bottom teeth break through at 11 1/2 months as well.
We were invited to Gilroy Gardens with our Neighbors the Hunters, it was for Harlows 4th birthday. It's this cute park with rides for young kids about 2 hour drive from Fresno. We had a blast all day long an rode as many rides as possible.
Talmage in his first car ride. With Wes, Harlows older cousin. I had to stay back with Tristan.
So nice he let Tal drive.

Hot air balloon swirly gig. With the birthday girl.
Lots of twisty and twirlies, made me sick just watching.
This place was called Gilroy GARDENS for a reason. It was the prettiest theme park I've vever seen with all kinds of beautiful trees and waterfalls through out. We got home really late because we didn't want to leave.
The day before turning one. He is exhausted thinking about turning one....so much pressure, he has to blow out his first candle and look cute for the pictures and make sure he can eat his whole cupcake.
The night before Daddy got home!
Always so much fun when dadda throws you around.
The next day we hung out and played that evening it was very low key and made mini burgers and french fries for Tristan. He loved it!
Then for the big moment, blowing out his first candle on his first cake. Tal was so cute making sure he didn't burn himself.
"Here let me help you lieele brother" Obviously Tristans weak little puffs from his mouth weren't strng enough to even make the candles flicker, especially from that far away.
Here we go first cake.
It was a chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake with chocolate chip cookie dough filling and frosting. It was REALLY rich, but delicious. I made it from scratch.
Tristans 1 YEAR stats for record keeping:
Height: 29.5 inches (34%) Tal: 31.5 (89%)
Weight: 22lbs 7 oz. (41 %) Tal: 23 lbs 5 oz (56%)
Head Circumference: 46 cm (34%) Tal 46.5 cm (46%)
Which seems crazy, maybe I calculated the percentages wrong, those numbers are wrong somehow, because strangers and friends alike always say to me, "look at your little chunk of a baby! How cute! He is a big boy huh?" I just look at him and think..."no, not really." Maybe he just looks like a BIGGER baby because he has no teeth or hair yet, but come on people he is one already and he is under 50% for every stat. I love my "chunky" boy, but really not big for his age. Or maybe he is! Love you Tristan James!
You think their brothers????

How fun that Tristan is one!! ...to me, he does seem "big" but that is only because I have yet to meet him in person, sad. But what a fun day it will be when I do. I'm so glad that Cody was able to make it home. That is definitely the best part. Hooray that you are done with SF part of residency. Ian has three months there next summer, and I'm not really looking forward to it. We aren't close enough to go visit him while he will be there, another bummer. We do it anyway, right?! Miss you guys. It would be so fun to catch up. Lots of love your way!
