It was a few days before Christmas and we did something crazy. The day started with us going to Talmage's Preschool Christmas program. It was so cute. they sang so many fun songs. Talmage had a part, he said, "We are singing Christmas Day." He has such horrible stage fright but I was very proud of him for standing up and doing it, and he spoke very clearly.
I was a bad mom and forgot to take his gum out of his mouth before the program started, so the entire time he was chewing. He pretty much didn't sing the entire time, because of the blasted gumin his mouth. But he was still adorable, especially when he got upset at himself because his red scarf came off half way through and he couldn't put it back together. It was a large crowd and he was scared to do anything! Notice poor little 16 month old Tristans cheeks. It was diagnosed as eczema. Poor kid was suffering for months with this stuff.
After our celebration we packed up and drove to Scott's Valley, where my cousin Steve and his wife Tamara and their 6 year old son live. We stayed with them for 4 days. and drove home Christmas eve. Cody was working crazy hours and we wouldn't have seen him anyways. Poor guy. But the trip was a blast and it is best explained through a million pictures.
Saw the Local Ballet Company showing of the Nutcracker.
Boys just wanted to climb trees instead of watch the dancers.
Went to a skate park and Tals first experience on a scooter. He did so good!
Tristan totally took to Cousin Steve.
Watching youtube clips "What does the fox say?" and other silly things.
Going to Kingdom Hall with Tamara (Jehovah's Witness Church). It was a nice meeting and the people were so nice to me. Tristan came with us and the boys went to the park. Does Trist look like Yoda or what?
Henry Cowell Redwoods Park
Steam Trains...so cool!
Beautiful Redwoods forest walk
Showing Tal the ropes.
Tamara and Tristan also got attached. She thought he was hilarious all week. She also helped us figure out a natural way to eliminate his eczema. We took him off cows milk, citrus fruit and eggs and used coconut oil and Eucerin cream and in 5 days his eczema went away!!!!
Our nightly hang outs and chats by the fire and Tree. They have a Christmas tree because Steve likes the tradition, even though Tamara doesn't celebrate the Holiday.
Capitola Beach near Santa Cruz. So warm for it being December 23rd! This was the BEST day ever. The kids had so much fun. I laughed my head off for a million different reasons and at one point or another we had a naked baby photo shoot on the beach. Enjoy!
The other Adults. Aunt Diane, Steve and Tamara.
They called this "Ocean Mail."
"Cheeeeeeeeeeeeese."
Do you see me and Tristan? Ya, his first time in the Ocean EVER! a little terrified of the waves now.
Sand in the mouth. blgh!
Yum Sandy pizza for lunch
Care free boy! Absolutely no worries! I love this!
We found Grandpa Burt's old Hat and had to try it on Tal. We also ran out of pull-ups so Gavin loaned his and Tal looked tiny in it. WE are weird I know.
And then we took off the next morning which was Christmas eve and so excited to see Daddy!
